    The Role & Requirements:

    • Experienced Centreless Grinder required to machine precision engineering components.
    • Fully conversant with interpreting and working closely to engineering drawings.
    • Working to manufacturing tolerances within 0.05mm
    • Must be able to use engineering measuring equipment
    • Capable of processing one off special components and batch quantities in a production environments
    • Ability to plan and work from own initiative with minimum supervision
    • Must be a strong team player and able to individually perform to meet customers’ demands
    • Willing to learn and offer their knowledge to enable continuous improvements

    The Candidate:

    -Previous experience in setting and operating Centreless grinding machines
    -Ability to quality check all components using   Micrometers and surface finishing equipment

    Working Pattern:

    • 37.5 hours per week
    • Five day week – Monday to Friday
    • Afternoon Shift, 16:00 to 24:00 / Night shift, 24:00 to 08:00

  • CNC Milling Setter Operator

    Job Purpose:

    To set and operate machines for production and help other operators when required.

    Typical Responsibilities:

    • To set CNC milling machines for production within allocated times.
    • To operate machines making adjustments to the machine settings as required.
    • To ensure that the quality expectations, as per drawing and planning are achieved.
    • Ensure that allocated operation times are achieved.
    • Fill daily activity sheets.
    • To be aware of and observe personal health and safety, and that of fellow members.
    • Co-operate with Managers. 

    Education & Experience:

    • Evidence of setting and operating experience on turning alloy steels.
    • Must be conversant with FANUC controls to make routine adjustments.
    • Must be competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
    • Must be conversant with the use of inspection instruments, to measure diameter, surface texture, roundness, concentricity etc.
    • Knowledge of good machine shop practices.
    • Good overall health and fitness; as expected to handle components weighing 20kgs.
    • Tolerance of some contact with metal cutting fluids used in the process (absence of known acute sensitivity, to these fluids).

     Working Pattern:

    • 37.5 hours per week
    • Five day week – Monday to Friday

    An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of the UK’s largest sub contract suppliers as a result of continued and sustained growth within the group. You will be involved in Programming, Setting and Operating CNC machines from engineering drawings.

    Main Duties:

    • Programming / setting / operating of Fanuc control CNC Lathe within allocated times.
    • Ability to read manufacturing drawings and understanding of dimensioning and tolerances.
    • Ability to measure finished machined components using typical manual inspection tools.
    • Ability to apply cutting tool knowledge and practices to a variety of materials.
    • Experience with quality requirements.
    • Experience in CAD/CAM packages is advantageous.

  • Production Co-ordinator

    Job Purpose / Summary:

     The Production Coordinator will work closely with the Mater Production scheduler and other Production coordinators to support the fulfillment of the customer requirements. This includes a complete life of a customer order from production schedules; works order releasing, interaction with external suppliers and workflows between departments. The Production Coordinator will liaise with department supervisors to ensure manufacturing issues are resolved.
    Main Duties:

    • To input/manage sales orders from customers, manual entry & electronically via EDI with accuracy.
    • To promptly raise sales order acknowledgements for customers where required.
    • To assist with the raising of Work Orders relevant to any new sales order requirements. Utilising our MRP system. This process is key to the business and will need to be managed carefully & efficiently.
    • To utilise the MRP system to assist with the management/ordering of Material requirements for all aspects of the business and raise these with the Direct Purchasing Buyer.
    • To work closely with the Master Production Scheduler and Despatch manager to assist with the prompt delivery of orders to meet customer demands. This will involve actively being involved with shop floor processes to manage the flow of finished goods through to dispatch.
    • To actively support with ‘late deliveries’ managing them through the reporting system on the MRP, and ultimately, where possible liaising with the customer to give them revised ETA on any late deliveries and to ensure the revised delivery dates are met.
    • To assist with general enquiries into the business from Customers, whether electronically or verbally – to promote a professional approach.
    • To be a team player within the business, supporting all areas of the business where possible.

    Education & Experience:

    • Demonstrable ability to follow specific work instructions accurately and reliably.
    • Proven ability to work under own initiative to complete objectives.
    • Proven production coordinator track record, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
    • The ability to work flexibly within a team.
    • Basic proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Strong personal qualities in: Attention to detail; Communication and Reliability and Accountability.
    • The ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • The willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and a changing environment.
    • The confidence to question and challenge and to maintain clarity of objectives.

    Experienced estimator is required familiar with all machining processes and ideally with some familiarity with fabricating and welding processes. Working within the commercial team to create quotations from customer drawings of a wide variety of engineering components.

    Outline

    To work within the estimating/sales engineering dept. integrating with the team to create a point of contact for customers.

    Direct contact with customers and suppliers via electronic communication, telephone and face to face.

    It may be required from time to time to visit customers.

    Ensuring the customers’ requirements are understood and that they are communicated effectively to all relevant internal departments.

    Liaise with internal departments to ensure we have adequate capacity and capability to achieve customers’ requirements.

    Monitor successful quotes through production to ensure the components are produced technically correct and are profitable, review and suggest production improvements.

    Understand and follow all internal Kaby procedures.

    Maintain all necessary data bases.

    The position may require the successful candidate to be a point of contact as a sales engineer for a nominated group of customers addressing both technical and commercial issues.

    Desired Skills and Experience.

    Ideally to have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship and a minimum of five years estimating experience, be proficient in the creation of spreadsheets and the use generally of Excel, Word and other core computer skills. An ability to utilise CAD/CAM would also be advantageous.

    Must be able to communicate effectively both internally and externally using all normal written and oral methods.

      • Excellent communicator with the ability to analyse and impart knowledge.
      • Comprehensive understanding of production, picking and storage, gained from experience.
