  • CNC Turner Setter Operator

    Job Purpose:

    To set and operate machines for production and help other operators when required.

    Typical Responsibilities:

    • To set CNC turning machines (lathes) for production within allocated times.
    • To operate machines making adjustments to the machine settings as required.
    • To ensure that the quality expectations, as per drawing and planning are achieved.
    • Ensure that allocated operation times are achieved.
    • Fill daily activity sheets.
    • To be aware of and observe personal health and safety, and that of the fellow members.
    • Co-operate with the Managers.

    Education & Experience:

    • Evidence of setting and operating experience on turning alloy steelsl of at least twelve months.
    • Must be conversant with FANUC controls to make routine adjustments.
    • Must be competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
    • Must be conversant with the use of inspection instruments, to measure diameter, surface texture, roundness, concentricity etc.
    • Knowledge of good machine shop practices.
    • Evidence of communicational knowledge of the English language, sufficient to comprehend health and safety instructions / training.
    • Good overall health and fitness; as expected to handle components weighing 20 kgs.
    • Tolerance of some contact with metal cutting fluids, used in the process (absence of known acute sensitivity, to these fluids).

    Training:

    At the management’s discretion, some of the following training may be offered.

      • Jib Crane
      • Hand Truck
      • Manual handling

    The Role & Requirements:

    • Experienced Centreless Grinder required to machine precision engineering components.
    • Fully conversant with interpreting and working closely to engineering drawings.

    • Must be able to use engineering measuring equipment
    • Capable of processing one off special components and batch quantities in a production environments

    Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.

    Perform inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts and components used in the manufacture of products, partially assembled or finished.

    • CMM knowledge / programming

  • Production Co-ordinator

    Job Purpose / Summary:

    The Production Coordinator / Planner will work closely with the Production Manager to support the planning and organisation of the production process, coordinating production schedules and workflows between departments. The Production Coordinator / Planner will liaise with department supervisors to ensure manufacturing issues are resolved and assist in day to day production / operations. 

    Main Duties:

    • To input/manage sales orders from customers, manual entry & electronically.
    • To promptly raise sales order acknowledgements for customers where required.
    • To assist with the raising of Work Orders relevant to any new sales order requirements. Utilising our MRP system. This process is key to the business and will need to be managed carefully & efficiently.
    • To utilise the MRP system to assist with the management/ordering of Material requirements for all aspects of the business.
    • To market suppliers for ‘best price’ using the MRP system. Accurately inputting the data into the MRP system and raising Purchase Orders accordingly to suppliers.
    • To work closely with the Shift Manager/ Operations Manager to assist with the prompt delivery of orders to meet customer demands. This will involve actively being involved with shop floor processes to manage the flow of finished goods through to dispatch.
    • To actively support with ‘late deliveries’ managing them through the reporting system on the MRP, and ultimately, where possible liaising with the customer to give them revised ETA on any late deliveries and to ensure the revised delivery dates are met.
    • To assist with receipting ordered materials into stock using our MRP system – recording accurate information.
    • To assist with general enquiries into the business, whether electronically or verbally – to promote a professional approach.
    • To be a team player within the business, supporting all areas of the business where possible.

    Education & Experience:

      • Demonstrable ability to follow specific work instructions accurately and reliably.
      • Proven ability to work under own initiative to complete objectives.
      • The ability to work flexibly within a team.
      • Basic proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
      • Strong personal qualities in: Attention to detail; Communication and Reliability and Accountability.
      • The ability to handle multiple tasks.
      • The willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and a changing environment.

    Main Duties:

    • Programming / setting / operating of Fanuc control CNC Lathe within allocated times.
    • Ability to read manufacturing drawings and understanding of dimensioning and tolerances.

    The role is to maintain all plant and machinery in a timely and efficient manner. To carry out scheduled routine maintenance of machines and supporting services and to fault find and repair machines as required.  You will be part of a planned maintenance team.

     

    Typical Responsibilities:

     

    • Carry out repairs to plant, machinery and equipment to minimise lost time due to breakdown
    • Planned Preventative Maintenance
    • As required carry out major refurbishment of plant, equipment and machinery
